It’s a great way to get A LOT of views on your short-form video content. YouTube Shorts is something new I’d do today that wasn’t available when I launched my channel back in 2020. You can also see when you’ve hit the minimum number of followers and watch hours required to apply for YouTube monetization. And, those comments can give you the inspiration and fuel for your next YouTube video. It’s a good way to see comments and questions coming in on your channel and respond to those quickly. You can see what’s working and what’s not working. It’s a simple way to hold yourself accountable. This is totally optional but, who doesn’t like to check in on their results from time to time? It’s a must-do, even if you don’t think it’s important. Outsource thumbnail creation, video editing, etc.Ī content calendar is a way to help keep you organized and stay consistent with your YouTube channel.When I grew my 300K+ channel in a year, I created content 6 days a week! That’s a lot of work but, there are ways you can make it easy on yourself: The big thing with YouTube I think is consistency. What kind of content is being shared about the nicheĬreate a content calendar, be consistent, and outsource.If one or more of these niches catches your eye, the next step would be to do research to see… I don’t know if they are saturated, what the audience is like, or any of that. I have NOT done any research on these niches. There are other sites like these but, these two come to mind and they are pretty good. Here are some places to get inspired for channel niches to explore: What’s more important is that you choose a niche with an audience, that isn’t saturated to death on YouTube or if it is competitive, you can put a new spin on it to make it feel fresh and stand out in the crowd. Having an interest in your channel’s content is helpful but, it’s not required. Today, I’d follow the same strategy for picking a niche. It looked easy enough to do and I thought I could do it. I discovered the niche based on personal interests and just being on YouTube all the time, I noticed the niche and studied what those accounts were doing right. While I won’t reveal that niche because of competition, I’ll tell you that when I started, there were around 5 to 10 large channels that were dominating the niche. My 300K+ subscriber YouTube account was in a smallish niche (at the time).
